BRIEF: Develop an identity for a unique UK-wide exercise start-up

Project Notes

Dansu—the Japanese word for dancing—is an aerobics-based dance fitness class with karate/martial arts moves, set to modern Japanese/Asian-influenced music, uniquely integrating traditional east-Asian dance scarves to aid stretching and add a touch of dramatic theatre.

We were commissioned to create a bold new identity for the class that could be applied to a range of related apparel as well as to ancillary health and fitness products.

Bold, strong characters, based on Japanese calligraphic kanji letterforms, and a striking traditional colour scheme set the tone—strength, dynamism, energy.

We designed a themed website, built by our preferred web partner Sneakytrick, prior to the launch of pilot classes and development of a franchise system.
